Get Through Your Break Up with These 5 Classic Songs

Let’s face it, break ups are a part of life. There may be some tears shed, long nights of reminiscing on the good times, and maybe even some moments of anger.

However time truly heals all things and an optimistic attitude doesn’t hurt either!

Take Insecure actress Yvonne Orji’s attitude on her recent break up from ESPN analyst, Emmanuel Acho. She revealed during her Jesus and Jollof podcast that her and Acho have decided to call it quits.

Orji mentioned a friend calling post break up and saying “It’s ok, you can be mad.” To which she responded “….no I’m OK.”

Orji credits her strong trust in God for her optimistic attitude. She told podcast listeners, “I just have to say, the reason I am so good and so happy is because I know how God works.” Good for you, you go girl! We are rooting for you, as well as for Emmanuel Acho, who seems like a good guy. Sometimes things just don’t work out.

Let’s not forget that a healing process does need to take place. I have compiled a list of songs that can get any hopeless romantic over a break up. Check out below!

  1. “Comfortable” by Lil Wayne

With Wayne’s clever lyrics, Kanye’s banging beat, and Babyface’s smooth chorus, this song will have you wiping your tears and remembering that you are in fact ALL THAT!

5. “Epiphany” Chrisette Michele

This actually came out during a time that I was personally going through a nasty breakup.  This song got me through many nights and I’m sure it has helped countless others, as Chrisette bravely belts out all her ex’s conniving ways and how she is totally OVER IT.
